Titanium. 3cmx3cm. 2012.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>The title of this series is a tribute to Lars Von Trier and to the dogma he created in film in 1995.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This series consists of two parts:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1) seven large format images (80 cm x 120 cm)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With the aim of distancing myself from the realist aesthetic of the commercial projects in which I have taken part (special effects), I decided to set myself various highly restrictive rules for this series, in the hope that they would lead me towards unexplored visual zones.<br \/>\n<strong>A dogma of constraints, in a purified freedom, in order to broaden the emotional scope of the viewer.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The dogma is as follows:<br \/>\n&#8211; use a <strong>single source of light<\/strong>.<br \/>\n&#8211; use a <strong>coloured geometric primitive\u00a0<\/strong>(in 3D a sphere, cube, cylinder or cone is known as a geometric primitive).<br \/>\n&#8211; all objects must be made of <strong>grey Lambert<\/strong> material (Lambert is a relatively old material in terms of the history of 3D, a sort of ancestor which is not often used nowadays for being too simplistic and lacking realism. it is still used for graphically rendering matt objects).<br \/>\n&#8211; <strong>do not use maps\u00a0<\/strong>(maps are images that are projected onto objects to make them more realistic or create the illusion of details which are not present in the 3D object). Using images is forbidden: all details must be modelled.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2) seven sculptures<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I wish to create, for each print, a <strong>sculpture<\/strong> representing part of the image.<\/p>\n<p>These sculptures materialize the virtual by giving it volume. They also allow viewers to see these objects and characters in volume and discover them through another point of view, and see the hidden parts.<\/p>\n<p>The spectator will thus be able to discover objects and people in volume, and see their hidden parts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>There is interplay between the images and the sculptures<\/strong>. 2D and 3D versions of the same scene.<\/p>\n<p>Both supports, printing and sculpture, have their <strong>advantages<\/strong>. The images make it possible to create a <strong>mise en sc\u00e8ne<\/strong>, and choose between <strong>lighting and framing options<\/strong>. The sculpture makes it possible to create <strong>the emotion of a concrete, physical subject<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>An entire life<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I do not just want to make an aesthetic image but also want to develop a narrative within each image and therefore within each sculpture. Using certain small details in particular, I want everyone to be able to project themselves and imagine their own story.<\/p>\n<p>This narrative also continues from scene to scene. The series is to be read in a set order and there is a thread connecting all these images.
