Son travail se situe \u00e0 l\u2019intersection entre technologie, observation po\u00e9tique et r\u00e9flexion sur le r\u00e9el. Chaque projet constitue un dispositif de lecture, permettant au spectateur de comprendre des univers num\u00e9riques souvent m\u00e9connus, tout en mettant en lumi\u00e8re leur construction et leurs sp\u00e9cificit\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/hugoarcier.com\/fr\/ghost-city\/\"><em>Ghost City<\/em><\/a> (2016) marque un tournant dans son \u00e9volution artistique. L\u2019\u0153uvre introduit la notion de surface comme objet de r\u00e9flexion. Par un proc\u00e9d\u00e9 de d\u00e9coupe num\u00e9rique, les surfaces des objets \u2013 montagnes, immeubles, rochers \u2013 deviennent visibles, r\u00e9v\u00e9lant leur nature creuse et illusoire. Cette approche met en \u00e9vidence la particularit\u00e9 des mondes virtuels : tout y est constitu\u00e9 de surfaces qui cr\u00e9ent l\u2019illusion du volume, comme un d\u00e9cor de th\u00e9\u00e2tre dont l\u2019artifice se r\u00e9v\u00e8le par un simple changement de point de vue. En rendant ces surfaces visibles, Arcier transforme les \u00e9l\u00e9ments constitutifs du monde num\u00e9rique en mati\u00e8re m\u00eame du regard, invitant \u00e0 une lecture attentive et critique de l\u2019image virtuelle.<\/p>\n<p>Cette exploration des surfaces se poursuit avec <a href=\"https:\/\/hugoarcier.com\/fr\/de-rerum-natura\/\"><em>De Rerum Natura<\/em><\/a> (2019), qui applique le m\u00eame principe \u00e0 un univers v\u00e9g\u00e9tal. L\u2019\u0153uvre devient une m\u00e9taphore de la disparition des \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes et des menaces environnementales. Le titre, emprunt\u00e9 au po\u00e8me de Lucr\u00e8ce, souligne que ce que l\u2019on per\u00e7oit n\u2019est souvent qu\u2019une enveloppe derri\u00e8re laquelle se jouent des processus invisibles. La vid\u00e9o cr\u00e9e un espace po\u00e9tique et analytique, o\u00f9 la contemplation se double d\u2019une prise de conscience \u00e9cologique.<\/p>\n<p>Le projet <a href=\"https:\/\/hugoarcier.com\/fr\/limbus-rage\/\"><em>Limbus<\/em><\/a> approfondit cette r\u00e9flexion en explorant des espaces inexplor\u00e9s situ\u00e9s sous le niveau d\u2019un jeu vid\u00e9o. Ces limbes, zones fant\u00f4mes o\u00f9 rien ne se manifeste selon les r\u00e8gles du monde visible, deviennent des paysages contemplatifs et des architectures de la disparition. L\u2019\u0153uvre invite le spectateur \u00e0 se confronter \u00e0 l\u2019absence et \u00e0 percevoir des espaces qui existent sans pr\u00e9sence humaine, questionnant le rapport au plein et au vide, au visible et \u00e0 l\u2019invisible. L\u2019exp\u00e9rience r\u00e9v\u00e8le la richesse de l\u2019invisible et la capacit\u00e9 des mondes num\u00e9riques \u00e0 g\u00e9n\u00e9rer des sensations in\u00e9dites.<\/p>\n<p><em>Yuri\u2019s Metamorphosis<\/em> t\u00e9moigne de l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat continu d\u2019Arcier pour l\u2019intersection des ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes \u00e9cologiques et de la repr\u00e9sentation num\u00e9rique, m\u00ealant rigueur conceptuelle et exp\u00e9rience immersive.<\/p>\n<p>Dans l\u2019ensemble de sa pratique, Arcier s\u2019int\u00e9resse \u00e0 la fragilit\u00e9, \u00e0 la transformation et \u00e0 la disparition, qu\u2019il s\u2019agisse de surfaces num\u00e9riques, d\u2019\u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes v\u00e9g\u00e9taux, d\u2019espaces virtuels inexplor\u00e9s ou de paysages en mutation. Ces th\u00e8mes structurent une \u0153uvre qui conjugue rigueur conceptuelle et po\u00e9sie, utilisant les technologies num\u00e9riques pour r\u00e9v\u00e9ler des ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes invisibles ou m\u00e9connus et inviter \u00e0 un regard attentif sur le monde.<\/p>\n<p>Les projets immersifs de l\u2019artiste, qu\u2019ils soient interactifs ou contemplatifs, montrent que la technologie n\u2019est pas simplement un outil de production visuelle, mais un dispositif capable de transformer la perception. Elle permet d\u2019\u00e9tendre le temps de l\u2019exp\u00e9rience, de dilater l\u2019espace et d\u2019introduire le spectateur dans des environnements en mutation o\u00f9 le visible et l\u2019invisible se c\u00f4toient. Ces dispositifs cr\u00e9ent des situations o\u00f9 contemplation et r\u00e9flexion s\u2019entrem\u00ealent, invitant \u00e0 percevoir la nature et les espaces virtuels avec une attention renouvel\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>La tension entre pr\u00e9sence et absence, entre visible et invisible, constitue un fil conducteur de l\u2019\u0153uvre. Qu\u2019il s\u2019agisse des surfaces creuses de <em>Ghost City<\/em>, des v\u00e9g\u00e9tations d\u00e9coup\u00e9es de <em>De Rerum Natura<\/em>, des limbes inexplor\u00e9s de <em>Limbus<\/em> ou des paysages en transformation de <em>Yuri<\/em>, chaque projet rend perceptible ce qui \u00e9chappe habituellement au regard. L\u2019absence et le vide deviennent des mat\u00e9riaux sensibles, transformant la mani\u00e8re dont le spectateur appr\u00e9hende le monde.<\/p>\n<p>Le travail de l\u2019artiste s\u2019inscrit \u00e9galement dans un dialogue continu avec la pens\u00e9e philosophique et scientifique. La notion de surface, le questionnement sur la mat\u00e9rialit\u00e9 et la disparition, et l\u2019attention port\u00e9e \u00e0 la transformation des \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes et des paysages virtuels contribuent \u00e0 des exp\u00e9riences \u00e0 la fois po\u00e9tiques et analytiques. Les \u0153uvres invitent \u00e0 r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir sur le rapport entre r\u00e9alit\u00e9 et virtualit\u00e9, \u00e0 percevoir la fragilit\u00e9 des environnements naturels et \u00e0 interroger notre mani\u00e8re d\u2019habiter les espaces num\u00e9riques et r\u00e9els.<\/p>\n<p>En r\u00e9sum\u00e9, l\u2019\u0153uvre d\u2019Hugo Arcier articule quatre axes principaux\u202f: la d\u00e9construction des images de synth\u00e8se et la mat\u00e9rialit\u00e9 des surfaces num\u00e9riques, l\u2019exploration po\u00e9tique et \u00e9cologique des \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes, l\u2019immersion dans des espaces inexplor\u00e9s ou contemplatifs, et la r\u00e9flexion sur le temps, la disparition et la transformation.
